About SBF MRI Centre

SBF MRI Centre specializes in MRI scans for Orthopaedic, Hand, and Foot conditions. We offer MRI services for sports injuries, degenerative, arthritic, bone tumours, and other hand problems.

Your GP, orthopaedic or hand doctor, physiotherapist, neurosurgeon, pain doctor, or rheumatologist may refer you.

Our machine can scan elbow, wrists and fingers, knees, ankles, feet and toes. We offer an open high-field MRI machine that can scan your extremities in a comfortable armchair for patients who don’t like the enclosed space.

Let us know if you have had any previous surgery. Our team has developed a variety of metal artifact reduction adaptions (designed by US fellowship-trained radiologists) that allows us to identify the causes of persistent discomfort. We are focused on orthopaedics and hand and obsessively tweak protocols to obtain as much information possible. Our radiologists have performed over tens of thousands scans to date. They collaborate with doctors from all over Singapore. To make an appointment with one of our doctors, please contact us.

Consultant Radiologist (Musculoskeletal)

Dr Kenneth Sheah has extensive experience as a Consultant Radiologist. He is a reviewer of Skeletal Radiology for the Singapore Medical Journal. He is also co-author of the chapters on Shoulder in Haaga’s CT, MRI of the Whole Body and Kamarkar’s Atlas of Sonoanatomy.

Radiology is at a cutting edge in medicine. Dr Sheah has been trained as a radiology interpreter to perform MRI studies of many musculoskeletal injury, ranging from elite soccer stars to elderly spine fractures.

He regularly performs injections to the knee, hip, ankle, and shoulder joints. The spine injections are performed using imaging equipment and include facets, the sacroiliac joint, nerve root, epidurals and vertebroplasty radiofrequency techniques, and nerve root and epidurals. Most patients go home the day after their procedures. Anecdotal success has also been reported for Ken’s ultrasound-guided trigger fingers injections.

He is also interested venous access (such implantable ports, PICC line lines), varicose and sclerotherapy as well as radiofrequency ablations of thyroid nodules.

Dr Sheah was a graduate of the Imperial College School of Medicine, Science and Technology. In 2002, he was named Young Radiologist of Year. He also did a research fellowship in Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Dr. Sheah believes empathy is the most important part of being a doctor.
